Fees and Billing

At Brunswick Healthcare, we prioritize accessibility to quality healthcare. We offer bulk-billing services to patients with valid Medicare cards and who also are: Pensioner Concession Card Holders, Healthcare Card Holders, Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Health Card Holders & Children under the age of 16 years, including childhood vaccinations. 

For patients without Medicare cards or not in the above aforementioned categories, consultation fees may apply and will be communicated during check-in or consultation. Additional charges may be incurred for specific procedures, and details will be provided during the check-in or during the consultation process. All fees are due and payable at the time of consultation, and we accept cash, credit card, and EFTPOS payments.

Please note that fees are non-refundable, and we do not accept international credit cards or American Express. If you are facing financial difficulties, we encourage you to discuss your situation with your doctor during your consultation. Your well-being is important to us, and we aim to provide flexible solutions to ensure access to the care you need.

Appointments

 All consultations with our dedicated team of doctors are strictly by appointment. In cases of urgent medical issues without a prior appointment, rest assured, we will attempt to prioritize and promptly attend to your needs.

 

We offer extended consultation times and an interpreter service for patients who may require such services. Please feel free to inquire or inform us about your specific requirements when scheduling your appointment.

 

For added convenience, we provide online booking services, allowing you to schedule an appointment with your preferred doctor at your convenience, eliminating the need for a phone call.

After Hours

At Brunswick Healthcare’s, our commitment extends to providing a 24-hour medical service. In case you require medical care outside regular clinic hours, please reach out to our after-hours service at 13 74 25.

 

Kindly note that charges may be applicable, and we recommend inquiring about fees at the time of your call.

Home Visits

Home visits are exclusively offered to established patients residing within a 5km radius of our clinic who face difficulty attending due to medical conditions. Additionally, arrangements can be made for patients in nursing homes and retirement villages nearby. Please note that consultation fees may apply and such requirements need to be discussed with your GP.

Repeat Prescriptions & Referrels

Kindly be advised that for repeat prescriptions and referrals, it is necessary to schedule a regular appointment with a doctor at our clinic.

Medical Certificate

Upon your doctor’s discretion, a medical certificate can be provided during the consultation upon request. It’s important to note that medical certificates must be requested at the time of the consultation, and doctors are not authorized to backdate these legal documents.

Test Results

At Brunswick Healthcare, it is our practice policy that staff or doctors do not provide test results over the phone. Patients are kindly requested to schedule follow-up appointments to discuss their results in person.

Reminder System

While our clinic may send SMS appointment reminders the day before your scheduled appointment, we cannot guarantee the successful delivery of the SMS reminder. Ultimately, it remains the patient’s responsibility to remember their booked appointment day and time.

Medical Student & GP Registrars

Brunswick Healthcare, a teaching practice affiliated with universities and government-regulated bodies, may occasionally inquire, prior to your consultation, about your willingness to have a medical student or GP Registrar present. Your participation in allowing these students/registrars to observe a consultation is greatly beneficial, and we appreciate your cooperation. However, please be assured that this is entirely optional, and we fully understand if you choose to refuse

Your Rights

If you encounter any issues, we encourage you to share your concerns. Feel free to discuss them with your doctor, one of our managers, or receptionists. Alternatively, you can choose to communicate in writing or use our suggestion box. We value your feedback, and your concerns, suggestions, and complaints are taken seriously.

Complaints

If you are dissatisfied with our service, please contact us. We take complaints seriously and aim for a prompt and fair resolution. If your concerns persist, you have the option to contact the Health Complaints Commissioner (HCC). The HCC addresses complaints regarding health services and the handling of health information in Victoria. Their service is free, confidential, and impartial.

To lodge a complaint with the HCC, you can fill out a complaint form online at hcc.vic.gov.au or call 1300 582 113 between 9 am and 5 pm, Monday to Friday, to discuss your complaint.

Telehealth Consult

Services are available for individuals with a valid Medicare card or an eligible card from one of our partnered Overseas Student Health Cover providers. Telehealth consultations will incur a $20 out-of-pocket fee. The full consultation fee (including the Medicare rebate and out-of-pocket fee) will be charged upfront before processing the Medicare rebate

Zero Tolerance Policy

 At Brunswick Healthcare, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our employees and contractors. Any form of violent, threatening, or aggressive behavior towards them will not be tolerated. In the event of a breach of this policy, we reserve the right to take action, including refusing service and notifying the police.
